RE: Sprinkler Timetable
After discussion with Fire Marshals from this area and several of the engineers involved with the
implementation of the Engineered Life Safety Systems (ELSS), I have come to the decision that the
time line outlined in my letter of May 15 makes it unrealistic to expect buildings not already deep
into the process to complete construction prior to the deadline of9/30/01, as set in the present City
ordinance. Therefore, the previous deadline of August 1, 1999, for all affected properties to schedule
a meeting with this office to discuss a schedule for compliance has been extended to
January 15, 2000.
