SUBJECT: REASSIGNMENT OF THE MIAMI BEACH FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS
Please be advised that the Administration recently reassigned the responsibilities for the production
of the Miami Beach Festival of the Arts and the staffing of the the Fine Arts Board to the City's Arts,
Culture and Entertainment Department. Although the Festival has enjoyed success over the past
twenty five (25) years, as administered by the Parks and Recreation Department, it was felt there may
be more opportunities for funding, sponsorships and recognition if the event was produced by the
Arts, Culture and Entertainment Department.
The Parks and Recreation Department has transferred all past and current working files regarding
the Festival operations and finances to the Arts, Culture and Entertainment Department, and staff
will continue to assist with subsequent questions and concerns. The Fine Arts Board is in support
of this reassignment.
In the future, please direct all inquiries regarding the Festival of the Arts to the Arts, Culture and
Entertainment Department. Should you have questions or comments, please advise.
