discuss the proposed improvements for the above-referenced project. I have enclosed a copy of

We have great news that we would like to share with you! Repairs of the SR.112/Julia Tuttle Causeway over the
Intracoastal Waterway Bridge are on schedule and construction will begin as early as July 2005. The Florida
Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Six plans to rehabilitate your communities' existing multi-span
bridge. This will provide additional years of service life to the bridge. If you would like to learn more about this
project, please join us for a Public Information Workshop at the following location:

SR-112/Julia Tuttle Causeway Bridge
over the Intracoastal Waterway
(Bridge No: 870301)
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will soon
begin the rehabilitation of Bridge No. 870301, located on
SR-112: Julia Tuttle Causeway over the Intracoastal
Waterway.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Rehabilitation includes
the cleaning and painting of all steel bearings, repairing
concrete deficiencies along prestressed girders, pier columns
and pile caps, replacement of the east fender access platform,
and repairing the NW comer of the bridge fender system.
PROJECT PURPOSE: The purpose of this project is to add
additional service years to the life of the bridge.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS: In order to lessen the impacts to the
traveling public, lane closures will occur during non-peak
hours: Monday - Sunday 9:00am to 3:30pm. During
construction, at least two lanes will remain open at all times
in each direction. Only one right lane closure will occur at a
time.
CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE: The Construction is
scheduled to begin as early as July of 2005. A total of twelve
months have been estimated for the necessary repairs.

El Departamento de Transporte de La Florida (FDOT) pronto
empezanl la restauracion en el puente numero: 870301 (Carretera
Estatall12) Julia Tuttle Causeway.
DESCRlPCION DEL PROYECTO: La restauracion incluye la
limpieza y pintura de todos los apoyos de acero, reparacion del
hormigon en vigas pretensadas, reparacion de columnas de
hormigon y cimientos sobre pilotes y el reemplazo de las defensas
dellado este y reparacion del sistema de defensas del puente dellado
noroeste.
PROPOSITO DEL PROYECTO: La restauracion Ie afiadira afios
de servicio a la vida del puente.
IMPACTOS AL TRANSITO: Para aminorar el impacto al
publico, la limpieza y pintura de los puentes se efectuara en las horas
de menos transito, 0 sea, de lunes a domingo entre las 9:00 AM y las
3;30 PM. Durante la construccion, se mantendriin abiertas, en todo
momento, por 10 menos dos carrileras, en cada direccion. Solo se
cerrani, cada vez, una carrilera en la derecha.
HORARIO DE CONSTRUCCION: La construccion en este
proyecto esta programada para comenzar aproximadamente en Julio
del 2005. Se estima que la rehabilitacion de estos puentes tomara
unos doce meses.
