REALIGNMENT OF CAPTAINS IN THE PATROL DIVISION

This Letter to the City Commission is to advise the Mayor and City Commission of
changes taking place within the Patrol Division of the Police Department to be effective on
October 4, 2004.
In an effort to promote closer relationships with the residents, neighborhood associations,
and businesses within our City, the Police Department will assign a Police Captain to
command each of the three districts. The Captain will be the point person who is
responsible for all police activities, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, within their
respective districts. This change is designed to further enhance our community policing
efforts and provide for better interaction and exchange of information with our residents.
The district captains will be more accessible to the civic and business leaders in their areas
and provide a more timely response to any crime trends developing in their districts.
The following are the district assignments and contact information for each Captain:
South District - Captain Dan Reid, extension 5134
Middle District - Captain Lynda Veski, extension 5385
North District - Captain Michael Auch, extension 5412
