Gonzalez '\ ~~ City Manager () CITY OF MIAMI BEACH EARLY VOTING INCENTIVES RECAP Subject: For the November 2, 2004 Election, the Administration established three important objectives. First, to make sure that all legally required advertising notices were published; second, to make sure information regarding Miami Beach's straw ballot questions, the Miami-Dade County G.O. Bonds questions, and the State Constitutional amendments were available via the City's website and Government Channel 20; and third, encourage early voting at the two (2) City of Miami Beach early voting precincts. All of the objectives were met. In regards to the early voting incentive program, a free ride on the Electrowave, from any stop on the route, to and from City Hall was implemented and 294 riders took advantage of this incentive. In addition, free one-hour parking at the 1 ¡th Street parking garage for early voters was utilized by 416 voters. Finally, a coupon for free admission for one (1) adult and one (1) child to an open session at either the Flamingo Pool or the Scott Rakow Youth Center Ice Rink for Miami Beach residents was implemented and a total of 1 ,647 coupons were issued, 1,149 were issued at City Hall and 498 were issued at the North Shore Branch Library. Based on figures from Miami-Dade County Elections for the early voting period of October 18 through October 31, Miami Beach City Hall had 8,872 early voters and North Shore Branch library had 7,114 early voters for a total of 15,986.
