As you may be aware, the City has a number of vacancies and/or term expirations on its primary
Development Review Boards, including the Design Review Board (DRB), the Historic Preservation
Board (HPB), the Board of Adjustment (BOA) and the Planning Board (PB). The vacant categories
of the relevant boards are indicated hereto:
Historic Preservation Board
1. A representative from the Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL), selected from three names
nominated by such organization.
This position is currently held by Mr. Mitch Novick. Should Mr. Novick be re-appointed, he could only
serve for one year, due to term limitations.
2. A representative from Dade Heritage Trust (DHT), selected from three names nominated by such
orga n ization.
This position is currently held by Ms. Beth Dunlop. Should Ms. Dunlop be re-appointed, she could
only serve for one year, due to term limitations.
3. One at-large member who owns or manages a property or properties located in one of the city's
historic districts, and who has demonstrated interest and knowledge in urban design and the
preservation of historic buildings.
This position is currently held by Ms. Judith Berson-Levinson. Ms. Berson-Levinson is eligible to be
re-appointed for a full two-year term.
4. One at-large member who resides in one of the city's historic districts, and who has demonstrated
interest and knowledge in urban design and the preservation of historic buildings.
This position is currently held by Mr. Randall Robinson. Should Mr. Robinson be re-appointed, he
could only serve for one year, due to term limitations.
Desian Review Board
1. Registered Architect (2 Vacancies).
One of the two vacant positions is currently held by Mr. Gregg Neville. Should Mr. Neville be re-
appointed, he could only serve for one year, due to term limitations.
2. Registered Landscape Architect.
The position is currently occupied by Mr. Steve Lefton. Mr. Lefton is eligible to be re-appointed for a
full two-year term.
3. Professional Designer/Urban Planner.
The position is currently occupied by Mr. Peter Chevelier. Mr. Chevelier is eligible to be re-appointed

or a full two-year term.
4. Citizen at Large.
This position was previously held by Mr. Gary Knight, who does not want to be re-appointed. Mr.
Alex David is eligible to be appointed to fill this position and has contacted some members of the
Commission regarding this position. Mr. David has extensive experience in the field of urban
planning, site planning and urban design and was previously employed by Miami-Dade County as
the coordinator of the Shoreline Review Board.
Plannina Board
1. Registered Architect.
This position was previously held by Mr. Francois Lejune, who is not eligible to be re-appointed due
to term limitations. The Planning Board has transmitted an Ordinance Amendment to the City
Commission (First Reading is scheduled for February 23) that will expand this membership category
to include a university faculty member with experience in architecture and urban design.
Board of Adiustment
1. Financial Consultant.
This position was previously held by Mr. Tony Rodriguez, who does not want to be re-appointed.
The most pressing need for members occurs on the Historic Preservation and Design Review
Boards, which will not be able to field a quorum after their February meetings.
