As you may know, in celebration of the City's 90th birthday, we plan to bury a time capsule
containing current City of Miami Beach related items. The time capsule will be buried
outside of City Hall after Mayor Dermer's State of the City address on April 8 and is to be
opened in 60 years when the City is celebrating its 150th birthday.
My staff has been working with the Mayor on this initiative and we wanted to share with you
some of the items that will be included in the time capsule. If you have suggestions for
other items, please let me know. Keep in mind that the time capsule is only 4 inches in
diameter and 18 inches long so there is not too much room for many or large items.
The following is the suggested list of items:
· City of Miami Beach 90th Birthday Proclamation
· Commission Agenda from March 16, 2005 - Titles and After-Action Only
· 8x10 color photo of Mayor, Commissioners and City Manager in Chambers with
everyone having an opportunity to write a message on the photo
· City of Miami Beach Visitor Guide
· City of Miami Beach Resident Guide
· March Beach Briefs (resident newsletter)
· Key to the City of Miami Beach
· Miami Beach lapel pin
· Parking Card
· Aerial photos of City of Miami Beach
