Subject: SPRING FEST 2005: APRIL 29 - MAY 1, 2005
This Letter to Commission (LTC) is to advise you that from April 29 - May 1 2005
SpringFest 2005 will be taking place at Bayfront Amphitheater in Downtown Miami. The
concert is hosted by P. Diddy, Jermaine Dupri and La La from MTV and will include live
performances from popular R&B, Hip Hop & Reggae stars including_Beenie Man, Trick
Daddy, Fat Joe, and TI. After Parties will be held nightly at Crobar, Opium Gardens &
Mansion.
The City Administration met with the producers of the event, Radio One and AG
Entertainment, on Monday, April 11, 2005, to get a better understanding of the scope of
this event. Large crowds are anticipated throughout the weekend as preliminary hotel
occupancy projections indicate strong bookings for the weekend. Furthermore, the
Administration will be having its first Major Events Planning (MEP) meeting for Memorial
Day Weekend on Friday, April 15, 2005. Spring Fest 2005 will be discussed during this
M EP Meeting to ensure the City is prepared for the activities of the weekend and to ensure
the safety and enjoyment of our City. As part of the plan, the City will continue its efforts to
seek cooperation with respect to the City's quality of life and order maintenance laws.
