Citywide newspaper for youth
The Office of Children's Affairs will begin publishing a citywide newspaper for youth in
November.
WOW - Words Of Wisdom will be written and produced by youth from various City schools
and will address pertinent youth issues. The newspaper will be published four times a year and
will be distributed through schools, libraries and other sites frequented by youth. The initial
eight-page press run will be 3,000 copies.
Corporate support will help underwrite production costs. For the first edition, the Sun Post will
provide technical support by allowing youth reporters access to its computers and layout
equipment. Other community newspapers will also be encouraged to offer technical support.
