This Letter to Commission is to advise you that the Cultural Arts Council (CAC) has
scheduled two planning meetings to update the City's strategic goals and objectives in the
area of cultural affairs.
On Thursday, July 7 from 10 to 11 :30 A.M. in the Banyan Room at the Botanical Garden,
the CAC is convening a group of its grantees-artists, presenters and arts organizations-
to hear about the priorities and challenges they face in the development and presentation
of their work. Information gathered at this session will be incorporated into the CAC's
Strategic Planning Retreat for FY 05/06, to be held on Saturday, July 9 from 9 A.M. to
Noon in the Tourism and Cultural Development Department Conference Room. The
CAC's goal for these two meetings is to strengthen the existing infrastructure to encourage
and support the highest level of artistic achievement possible in our city.
Again, the results of these two meetings will be used to update the City's cultural strategy
and will be shared with the City Commission after the summer recess.
