GonzalezJ ~ City Manager rr- 0 DATE: October 7,2005 SUBJECT: CITY OF MIAMI BEACH SCHEDULE OF CANVASSING BOARD MEETINGS FOR THE NOVEMBER 1,2005 GENERAL ELECTION Regarding the upcoming November 1, 2005 General Election, the Mayor and City Commissioners are required to appoint official representatives to serve as the Miami Beach Canvassing Board. Canvassing Board members may not be candidates with opposition in the City's General Elections, or active participants in the campaign of any candidate with opposition in November 1 General Election. The City Attorney will therefore recommend at the October 19, 2005 Commission Meeting that the Canvassing Board be composed of the City Manager or his designee, and two members of the City Commission who qualify for appointment to the Canvassing Board and that appoints be made. As in previous elections, I have selected Ms. Mayra Diaz Buttacavoli to serve as the City Manager's designee to the Canvassing Board.
