Mitzvah Day is an annual event and day of obligation sponsored by Temple Beth Shalom to provide volunteer opportunities for its members and the community at large. It is an opportunity to do a good deed by improving the lives of others. This is the second year the City of Miami Beach has coordinated this event. Approximately 30 volunteers from the Miami Beach community will remove litter and debris from the beach and dunes between 45th to 47th Streets. The Parks and Recreation and Public Works Departments will provide support in the form of tools and equipment and removal of garbage bags. City staff and ECOMB will provide supervision on the day of the event and volunteers will submit waivers through that organization for participation in the activity.
