City of Miami Beach Strategic Plan
While Miami Beach has accomplished a great deal over the last several years,
the community satisfaction survey conducted in early 2005 provided insight into
areas that the City should focus on and improve further. Through this survey
process, other efforts to solicit feedback from our various stakeholders and
discussions with the City Commission, more specific strategic priorities for the
City were adopted. These priorities, called Key Intended Outcomes (KIOs), are
now our primary focus and incorporate our original strategic priorities and link
directly to our vision.
These Key Intended Outcomes were used to develop a Strategic Plan that sets
measurable outcomes for the City to achieve over the next few years and guides
all City departments as they analyzed existing services, and prepared their
proposed budgets and new initiatives for the new fiscal year and beyond.
Beginning with the fiscal year 2005-2006 budget, the City implemented a new
process for allocating resources based on the Strategic Plan. In doing so, we
have been able to better focus on the key services the City offers and are now
even better positioned to address and deal with the challenges and opportunities
that face our community.
The City will continuously monitor its performance and make adjustments for
further improvements in order to help make Miami Beach an even better place to
live, work, and play.
Attached is a copy of the Strategic Plan which highlights the City's priorities and
shows how each of the priorities align with Miami Beach's vision for the future.
