Gonzalez, City Manager ~'X DATE: March 8, 2006 SUBJECT: M.A.D.D. Awards This Letter to the City Commission is to provide information on the 2005 M.A.D.D. Awards. These awards were presented to honor the recipients for their support of DUI/DRE Enforcement, the use of Sobdety Checkpoints, and DUI Saturation Patrols as a deterrent to DUI crime furthering M.A.D.D.'s cause. On February 23, 2006 the following personnel were honored for their efforts in combating DUI cdme: Awards of Distinction: Sergeant Paul Masters - for 28 years of service, BTO / SFST instruction, supervision of enforcement and traffic homicide investigation related to impaired driving and Officer Glenn Hodges -for 25 years of service and dedication to impaired ddving enforcement. 100 + Exceptional DUI Enforcement Award: Officer Eric Dominguez Award of Honor for Traffic Homicide Investigation and Impaired Driving Crashes: Sergeant Paul Masters, Officer Kevin Millan, and Officer Eric Dominguez Drug Recognition Specialist Award of Distinction: Sergeant Paul Masters Officer Eric Dominguez, Officer Glenn Hodges, Officer Sam Guerrero, Officer Greg Strong, Officer Robert Jenkins, and Officer Kevin Millan Award of Excellence -Apprehension of Impaired Drivers: Officer Martin Dionne, Officer Eric Dominguez, and Officer Steve Cosner Program Support - Maintenance Officer: Officer Sam Guerrero Multi-Agency DUI Task Force Award of Distinction: Miami Beach Police Department - accepted by Sergeant Paul Masters Please join me in congratulating these outstanding individuals for their efforts to combat driving under the influence and helping to make our roadways safer.
