SUBJECT: COMMUNITY MEETINGS REGARDING GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND
PROJECTS
The City Administration has been diligently moving forward on the implementation of the General
Obligation (GO) Bond Projects. Steady progress in meeting important benchmarks are listed below:
. Financing of Projects
. Establishment of GO Bond Project Oversight Committee and monthly meetings since
December
. Issuance of Requests for Proposals for ArchitecturallEngineering consultants for city
projects,
. Contract amendments to five Architectural/Engineering consultants covering 21 projects
. Workshops to obtain input regarding park programming:
2/2&'00 North Shore Open Space Park and Nature Center
2/29/00 North Shore Park and Youth Center
3/7/00 Flamingo Park
An extensive community participation plan has been developed to obtain community input and
prioritize projects, Three District Meetings are scheduled to give an overview of all projects
planned within the North, Middle and South Beach areas, The purpose of the District Meetings is
to offer an informational session to explain the planning process, existing conditions, existing
projects, and a 6-year vision for the area,
