This Letter to Commission serves to advise you of an event occurring on the City of
Miami Beach that is being coordinated by the office of County Mayor Carlos Alvarez.
The Office of the County Mayor contacted the City several months ago to idleltify a
venue for a health and wellness event for seniors as part of a countywide, public/private
initiative. We would like to inform you that the "Mayor's Initiative on Aging" will be holding
an event at the North Shore Youth Center on April 28,2006 frcm 8:00 a.m. to 1 :00 p.m.
Approximately 300 seniors from our area have been invited to attend, including residents
currently participating in our special programs at this park. The activities includ~ among
other things, a health fair, aerobics and Tai Chi classes and educatiorallectures.
Exhibitors will provide information on wellness and safety. This event is free to
participants.
