At the request of the City Commission, the Parks and Recreation Department has implemented
a "Summer Splash Bus" for transportation of North End residents to Flamingo Park Pool. The
service will commence daily operations on May 30, 2006. As mentioned in a previous LTC
we would propose to promote and operate this service on a trial basis for the month of June
and if it proves successful continue its operation through August 11 th, which is the entire period
that the public school system is in recess.
Pick ups sites will include North Shore Park and Normandy Isle Park. Youth 12 and over may
ride without an adult but must register at North Shore Park Youth Center in order to obtain
pertinent information in case of emergency. Children under the age of 11 must be
accompanied by an adult. Bus transportation will be provided by an outside qualified bus
service and the bus will always be staffed with a Parks and Recreation personnel to assure the
safety of all participants while on the bus.
We have included as attachments copies of the informational flyers and newspaper ad along
with the registration form and rules and regulations.

Two Afternoon Pick-Ups to Flamingo Pool
Free shuttle transportation for all ages, from pick-up sites
North Shore Park, 501 72nd St. and
Normandy Isle Park, 7030 Trouville Esplanade.
Everyday from 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
May 30-August 11 (no route on July 4)

RULES AND REGULATIONS
The Miami Beach Splash Bus provides free transportation from North Shore Park Youth Center
and Normandy Isle Park to Flamingo Pool daily.
The Miami Beach Splash Bus operates 12 Noon to 5 PM per posted schedules available for pick
up at North Shore Park Youth Center. Schedules may be d.elayed due to unforeseen instances
such as: traffic congestion, construction projects and or inclement weather.
A Miami Beach Splash pick up/drop off sign will be posted at North Shore Park Youth Center,
Normandy Isle Park and Flamingo Pool. These posts are the designated site for pick up and
drop off only.
Splash Bus transportation is on a first come, first serve basis.
Monday through Friday please ride the WHITE Splash Bus. On Saturday and Sunday please
ride the iYELLOW City of Miami Beach Parks & Recreation Splash Bus.
The Recreation Division and its designated employees will maintain the Splash Bus operations
and boarding of participants on each run. Employees do not accompany or supervise any
participants entering or exiting the Splash Bus to and from Flamingo Pool. The last pick up from
Flamingo Pool is at 4:15 PM sharp.
Youth ages 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult 18 and over.
All Splash Bus users 12 - 17 years of age riding the Splash Bus unaccompanied by an adult
must pre-register with parental consent within two weekdays prior to riding the Splash Bus.
Splash Bus registration is accepted at North Shore Park Youth Center Monday through
Thursday 5 PM to 7 PM. At that time the user will be issued a picture 10 to board the Splash
Bus.

sustained through my child's participation in this activity.
