SUBJECT: 2000 SPECIAL OLYMPICS STATE SUMMER GAMES
It is with great pride and pleasure that the Parks and Recreation Department ~vould like to inform you
of the recent success of our Special Olympics Athletes. Four of our athletes have been chosen to
compete in soccer and tennis at the Special Olympics State Games in Kissimmee, Florida from April 28
through April 30, 2000.
These four athletes ~vere among hundreds of athletes f~rom around the county who participated in the
Special Olympics Local Games held March 4, 2000 at Miami~Dade ConmmniW College South Campus.
Their hard work and determination at the Local Games enabled them to qualify for the State Games.
Our Special Olympics Athletes are proud of their success and look forward to the opportunity of
representing the City of Miami Beach in Kissimmee.
