SUBJECT: MASSIVE GRASS FIRE IN SOUTH MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
As a result of the massive grass fire in south Miami-Dade County threatening residential structures,
the Miami-Dade County Fire Department is reallocating as much of their resources as possible to
mitigate the threat. To provide fire protection in areas of the County left unprotected as a result of
reallocating resources, the County has requested mutual-aid pursuant to the Miami-Dade County
Mutual-Aid Plan. All fire agencies in Miami-Dade County are participating. The City of Miami
Beach's Fire Department is providing two pumpers to cover Miami-Dade County Fire Stations in
North Bay Village, and N.W. 96 Street and 27 Avenue, in Miami.
