Safe Night of Fright- Over 1,900 ghouls and goblins invaded The North Shore bafia sh~
October 31 for our annual Halloween event. The candy was flying and music filled the air as
crowds gathered to enjoy a safe night of trick-or-treating, dancing, face painting, and good
old fashion fun. Thank you to the MBPD for all their assistance with the event, McGruff the
Crime Dog, Walgreens for the pictures, the Florida Marlins for the give-a-ways, Mega 94.9
for the music and Costco for the food and candy donations.

Movie in The Park- Hundreds of cinema enthusiasts turned out to the Miami Beach Parks
and Recreation's Movie in the Park event held at Flamingo Park on Friday November 3,
2006. The lawn was lined with blankets and chairs as movie watchers enjoyed the animation
film Over the Hedge, rated PG on the giant 15' x 20' blimp screen. Free popcorn and glow
in the dark necklaces were distributed, while food was available for purchase. An arts and
crafts area was also provided free for those young and older creative spectators.
Multicultural Night- North Shore Park Youth Center was standing room only with over 250
residents who came to celebrate the 2nd Annual Multicultural Night on Friday, November 3,
2006. Children and senior's from North Shore Park and Scott Rakow Youth Center danced
the night away as they paid tribute to various cultural artists and their music. Food samples
from different countries like Mexico, Haiti, Brazil, China, and the United States were
available to the crowd as they viewed music videos of performances from artists around the
world.
Weekend Ice Skating at Scott Rakow- Who needs Ocean Drive ori the weekends, when
you can skate in the "coolest" place on Miami Beach? The Scott Rakow Youth Center ice
skating rink, described as the best place "to chill out" has weekend ice skating sessions
designed just for teens. With the addition of new state of the art lighting, laser fog system
and a live D.J., the Friday and Saturday night evening sessions are filled with 250 - 300
skaters each night. Skaters get to socialize and have fun in a safe and supervised
environment. The incredible sound system plays both the oldies and the newest tunes of
today.
