You are invited to this weekend's upcoming event for the Parks and Recreation Department's
Movie in the Park, Winter Wonderland and Alice in Wonderland. Please see attached invitation.
The Miami Beach Barricudas- The City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreation's first ever wrestling
team competed in their first wrestling tournament at the "32nd Annual Seahorse Open" which is the
largest and most popular wrestling event held in the state of Florida on Friday, November 24, 2006
at Nova High School (3600 College Avenue, Davie FI). The children wrestled in the novice and
school boy divisions, weight classes ranging from 75 - 145 Ibs. Three of the five participants that
competed were place winners, as the tournament proved to be a challenging experience for the first
timers. The Miami Beach Barracudas can be seen training hard and endlessly as they prepare for
upcoming events. The Barracudas will host their first Duel Meet at North Shore Park and Youth
Center to be held during the month of December 2006 extending a special invitation to the
Homestead YMCA program.
Miami Beach, FL - The City of Miami Beach after school participants presented the latest winter
trends at the Winter Fashion Show on Friday, December 1, 2006. The FREE event was held at the
North Shore Park Youth Center (501 nnd Street) from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
Children of all ages walked down the runway modeling winter garments and fantastic accessories
which was bound to give event goers stylish ideas on how to look and feel great during the cold
season.
