SUBJECT: 63RD STREET FL YOVER DEMOLITION/BRIDGE REHABILITATION/INDIAN
CREEK RECONSTRUCTION
This letter is to provide you with an update on subject project.
Indian Creek southbound traffic will switch to the East side of the road from 65th Street to
63rd Street effective Wednesday, December 13, 2006. When the switch occurs, the
Management of Traffic (MOT) will provide for 3 continuous southbound lanes from the
convergence of Abbot Street and Indian Creek Drive to 63rd Street. The original projected
completion for this phase of the project was September 2006.
The completion date for the Indian Creek reconstruction is now scheduled for February
10,2007, when the roadway will be fully operational, with all work on northbound and
southbound lanes completed. The original projected completion date was December 15,
2006.
The rehabilitation of the bascule bridge is underway. During the present phase, the
contractor is conducting the erection of the northeast and northwest leaves. The erection
of the southwest and southeast leaves and respective lane switch is scheduled for the
second week of January 2007. The work on the bascule bridge is on time as per the
original schedule.
The MOT over the bridge will keep the same configuration with one westbound and one
eastbound traffic lanes until the full completion of the project.
The entire project is projected to be finished by June 19,2007. The original projected
date of completion was May 31 , 2007.
