The following is a brief summary of the investigation leading to this important arrest: . Criminal Investigations Unit Property Section Detectives received information from the United States U.S. Marshal's Office that a cellular telephone that was taken during a burglary at a home in Mid Beach was being used to call an individual that lives in Kendall. Detectives responded to the Kendall residence and interviewed the occupant to ascertain who was calling him from the stolen cellular phone. After questioning the individual, he mentioned that he had a friend who called him from a Miami residence near 79th Street. Detectives immediately began a surveillance on the residence near 79th Street. After a few hours, the subject arrived and was subsequently questioned by Detectives. Pursuant to the Detectives initial investigative interview, the subject admitted to direct involvement in several burglaries that occurred on Miami Beach. The subject then gave the Detectives consent to search his residence. As the subject opened the door to his residence, Detectives noticed several items in plain view that appeared to have been taken from burglaries on Miami Beach. The subject was arrested and transported to the Miami Beach Police station for further questioning. Over thirteen boxes of jewelry, computer hardware and other items believed to be stolen were confiscated from the subject's residence.
