RESOLUTION NO. 2000-24054
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING
MR. JONATHAN SINKES AS A MEMBER OF THE
PERSONNEL BOARD TO REPRESENT GROUP III
EMPLOYEES.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 93-2868, an election was held to fill a vacancy on the
Personnel Board to represent Group III employees; and
WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, a Certificate of the Clerk and Inspector who conducted an election on
August 22, 2000, for the purpose of electing a member of the Personnel Board Group III of the City
employees to serve on the Personnel Board; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission have examined the Certificate and herein wish to
accept the results of the election; and
WHEREAS, there were a total of 42 votes cast; with 36 votes for Jonathan Sinkes and 06 votes for
Henry W. Varela.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Jonathan Sinkes be
declared a member of the Personnel Board to represent Group III employees, for the a term which
expires on July 31, 2003.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 13th day of September, 2000.

We, the undersigned Clerk and Inspector, do hereby certify, that we held and conducted an
election of the members of Group III employees of the City of Miami Beach, at City Hall, 1700
Convention Center Drive, on August 22, 2000, for the purpose of electing a member of the
Personnel Board to represent Group III; that at the close of the polls, we proceeded to open
the ballot box and count the ballots, and found the results of said Election to be as
follows:
THAT there were a total of ~ votes cast.

SINKES AS A MEMBER OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD TO REPRESENT
GROUP III EMPLOYEES, FOR A TERM TO EXPIRE ON JULY 31, 2003.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the Resolution.
BACKGROUND
Pursuant to Ordinance No. 93-2868, an election was held to fill the expired term on the Personnel
Board to represent Group III employees (Blue Collar Classified Employees).
An election was held on August 22, 2000. The ballot contained two candidates. A total of 42 votes
were cast as follows: 36 votes for Jonathan Sinkes; 6 votes for Henry W. Varela; and 0 void ballots.
Jonathan Sinkes received the highest number of votes and is duly elected to represent Group III
employees on the Personnel Board for a term to expire on July 31, 2003.
The Certification ofthe Election is attached.
The Mayor and the City Commission should adopt the attached resolution accepting the Certificate
of the Election and finding Jonathan Sinkes duly elected to represent Group III employees of the
Personnel Board.
