RESOLUTION NO. 2007-26524
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE WAIVER OF
THE $500 BASE RENTAL FEE FOR THE ONE TIME USE OF THE
BYRON CARLYLE THEATER BY MIAMI BEACH SENIOR HIGH
ROCK ENSEMBLE.
WHEREAS, the Beach High Rock Ensemble and its Musical Director, Doug Burris,
are invaluable assets to our community and their work should be commended and
acknowledged; and
WHEREAS, Miami Beach Senior High is currently under construction and its
auditorium will not be available for use for some time; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission have determined it to be in the City's
best interest to approve a one time waiver for the base rental fee ($500) of the Byron
Carlyle Theater to Miami Beach Senior High Rock Ensemble to present a musical concert
on May 19th, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Miami Beach Senior High would be responsible for all additional costs
related to producing their event at the Byron Carlyle Theater, including but not limited to
Front of House Fees (ushers, ticket takers and maintenance), Stage Hand labor and
Insurance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk
are authorized to approve a one time venue rental fee waiver for Miami Beach Senior High
Rock Ensemble to use the Byron Carlyle Theater on May 19th, 2007 for the presentation of
a musical concert.

SUBJECT: Agenda Item - Request to Waive Rental Fee at a City Facility (Byron Carlyle Theater
or Colony Theater) for the Rock Ensemble Concert on May 19, 2007
I would like to request that the Commission waive the rental fee at a City facility, Byron Carlyle
Theater or Colony Theater, to allow the Rock Ensemble to perform a concert on May 19, 2007.
Please place this item on the April 11 th Commission agenda.
