Gonzalez, City Manager ~. ~ , ~ DATE: August 30, 2007 SUBJECT: Parks and Recreation Department- 2007 Summer Overview The Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce yet another successful summer. Facilities were full to capacity with a total of 2,527 children serviced at varies City sites. Of the 2,527 campers, 1,373 were day campers of which 73.1 % or 1,003 received full or partial scholarships. The other 1,154 children registered for one or more of our 19 different specialty camps offered this year. 261 of these children, or 22.6% received full or partial scholarships as part of your approved scholarship expansion program. Overall, of the 2,527 participants enrolled in a day camp or specialty camp, 50% received a full or partial scholarship. Please see attached schedules for details and prior year comparison.
