A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROPRIATING
$1,200,000 FROM FUNDS GOVERNED BY THE
TOURIST AND CONVENTION CENTER
EXPANSION AUTHORITY (TCCEA) INTO A
NEWLY ESTABLISHED WORK ORDER
ENTITLED, "CONVENTION CENTER ROOF
REPAIR", FOR REPAIR OF THE ROOF AT
THE MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION CENTER.
WHEREAS, the City recognizes the need to repair the roof at the Miami Beach Convention
Center; and
WHEREAS, appropriations are required to cover expenditures for repair of the roof at the
Miami Beach Convention Center; and
WHEREAS, the Tourist and Convention Center Expansion Authority has approved the use
of Convention Center funds for this project; and
WHEREAS, the appropriation of funds requested herein will allow the Administration to
pay for the architectural and engineering studies related to the repair of the roof at the Miami Beach
Convention Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission approve the appropriation of monies from the Tourist and Convention Center
Expansion Authority, in the amount of$I,200,000, to be allocated to newly established Work Order
entitled, "Convention Center Roof Repair".

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATION AND TRANSFER OF
$1,200,000 IN TCCEA FUNDS TO A NEWLY ESTABLISHED WORK ORDER
ENTITLED "CONVENTION CENTER ROOF REPAIR" IN FUND 440
SUBJECT:
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission pass the attached Resolution.
BACKGROUND:
The Convention Center Expansion Authority Board has approved the expenditure of $3,000,000
for the purpose of repairing the roof of the Convention Center.
The Administration requests the transfer and appropriation of these funds as follows: $1,000,000
from the "Renewal and Replacement" trust account, and $200,000 from the "Construction" trust
account, in order to provide necessary funds to commence work on this project.
CONCLUSION:
The appropriation and transfer of these funds should be approved.
