Liu, Executive Assistant to the City Manager Miami Beach, FL 33139 Dear Mr. Liu: I am writing with reference to a conversation Ada Llerandi, a board member of UNIDAD, had with you. It is my understanding that the City is in the process of updating their computer equipment. The Hispanic Community Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the poverty level, low and moderate income community of Miami Beach. Our shoe-string budget does not permit us luxuries such as computers to assist clients. Computers that can be utilized as word processors would benefit our clients who are in the process of looking for work and wishing to update their resumes, as well as giving them experience and polishing their skills. Additionally, one of our newest programs is the After School Teen Intervention Program, beginning this month. The tutoring program would be greatly enhanced if computers could be an integrated component. If there is any equipment available that the City of Miami Beach would like to donate to a very worthy cause, we would be very happy to be the recipients. If you would like to discuss this at length or require any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
