RESOLUTION NO. 2001-24228
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR IDS
DESIGNEE, TO CHANGE THE SIGNATURES FOR THE FINE ARTS CHECKING
ACCOUNT AT SUNTRUST BANK FROM THE PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT, TO THE OFFICE OF ARTS, CULTURE & ENTERTAINMENT,
WHEREAS, the Administration transferred responsibility for the Fine Arts checking
account for the Miami Beach Festival of the Arts from the City's Parks & Recreation Department,
to the Office of Arts, Culture & Entertainment on July 29, 1999; and
WHEREAS, this checking account is required for expenditures which must be remitted on
site during the Festival such as Patron Purchase Coupon redemption and vendor services; and
WHEREAS, the established checking account at SunTrust Bank requires a change of
signatures to reflect this transfer of responsibility,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission herein approve and authorize that the City Manager, or his Designee, to change the
signatures for the Fine Arts checking account at the SunTrust Bank from the Parks & Recreation
Department to signatures oftwo designees of the City Manager.

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt the Resolution,
ANALYSIS:
The Administration transferred responsibility for the Fine Arts accounts for the Miami Beach Festival
of the Arts from the City's Parks & Recreation Department to the Office of Arts, Culture &
Entertainment (ACE) on July 29, 1999, However, the associated financial reports and bank. accounts
were not changed and this action needs to occur,
The Fine Arts checking account at the SunTrust Bank. requires a change of signatures to reflect this
transfer of responsibility and facilitate payments on-site reimbursements of patron purchase coupons
to the participating artists, The Patron Purchase Coupons are generated by the Fine Arts Board
Patron Purchase Program which demonstrates the extent of community support for this annual event,
The Fine Arts checking account for Festival of the Arts will require two (2) signatures of designees
of the City Manager,
CONCLUSION:
The City Commission should adopt the resolution changing the signators for the Fine Arts checking
account for the annual Festival of the Arts,
