SUBJECT: URBAN INFILL AND lIEDEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE GRANT
In September 2000, the City submitted an application to the Florida Department of Community
Affairs (DCA) for an Urban Infill and Redevelopment Assistance Planning Grant in the amount of
$40,000. This City identified the area between 4th and 7th Streets, and Alton Road and Collins
Avenue as the target area for this project, which will enable the stakeholders in the area to engage
in a collaborative and holistic planning process.
The Administration has been notified by DCA that Miami Beach's application was ranked 4th out of
the 18 that were submitted, and was funded in full at $40,000. The Administration is now awaiting
the final grant agreement from DCA, and will soon begin preparing the implementation of this
project during the spring. The project will be administered by the CommtmityfEconomic
Development Department.
