No;ND-Jea) LETTER TO COMMISSION October 16, 2000 TO: Mayor Neisen O. Kasdin and Members of the City Commission FROM: Jorge M. Gonzalez \ ~ City Manager 0 - n 0 SUBJECT: RESOLUTION FROM THE mSTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD Attached, please find a copy of a resolution adopted by the Historic Preservation Board at their September 12, 2000 meeting. The Historic Preservation Board would like the City to study the feasibility of creating a landscaped median on Lincoln Road in between Collins Avenue and Washington Avenue. Given the amount of vehicular traffic on Lincoln Road between Collins and Washington Avenues, the Administration has concluded that it makes sense to study the feasibility of creating a landscape median, Such a median would be appropriate in conjunction with the proposed new Lincoln Road Signage District, and would create more defined pedestrian crosswalks. The Administration would recommend that the Commission refer the matter to the Land Use Committee for formal consideration. We will include a referral action recommendation for Commission consideration to be heard at your November 8, 2000 meeting. JMG:~RM attachment c: Jorge G.
