A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF
DONATIONS; APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS; AND EXPENDITURES NOT
TO EXCEED AMOUNTS RECEIVED, FOR THE CITY'S TREE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City has embarked on a major beautification
effort which includes the planting of trees to enhance its public
property and rights-of-way throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, major thoroughfares, several neighborhoods and City
buildings have been, or are, in the process of being beautified;
and
WHEREAS, donations of cash and plant materials will help the
City to maintain this beautification effort.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that acceptance of
donations; appropriation of funds; and expenditures not to exceed
amounts received, for the City's Tree Program, are hereby
authorized.

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The Administration recommends that the City Commission adopt the attached
resolution authorizing acceptance of donations; appropriation of funds; and
expenditures equal to the amount of cash donations for the city's Tree Program.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Miami Beach has embarked on a major beautification effort which
includes the planting of trees to enhance its public property and rights-of-way
throughout the City. Major thoroughfares, several neighborhoods and city
buildings have been, or are in the process of being beautified. Donations of cash
and plant materials help the city to maintain this effort.
ANALYSIS:
These donations will supplement the city's Tree Program. Expenditures will not
exceed amount of cash donations received.
CONCLUSION:
The City Commission should accept donations and authorize appropriation and
expenditure of funds received.
