Gonzalez City Manager SUBJECT: CRIME STATISTICS FOR THE YEAR 2000 This Letter to the Commission is to advise of the just released Florida Uniform Crime Report (UCR) statistics for Part I Crimes for the year 2000. Part I crimes include Homicide, Forcible Rape, Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Larceny and Motor Vehicle Theft. We are pleased to report that, overall, crime has decreased -13. 7% in the City! Some highlights from the UCR report are: The total number of crimes reported decreased -13. 7% The total number of violent crimes reported decreased -5.5% · The total number of non-violent crimes reported decreased -14. 6% The total number of Homicides reported decreased -40% The total number of AggravatedAssaults decreased -7.5% The total number of Burglaries reported decreased -16.9% ThetotalnumberofMotorVehicleTheftsreporteddecreased-21.9% The reduction is reflected by a decreased of 1,966 fewer Part I crimes reported in the year 2000 than reported in the year 1999.
