SUBJECT: SELECTION COMMITTEE FOR THE 72~° STREET REP
On November 8, 2000, the City Commission authorized Request for Qualifications no. 5-00/01 for
an approximately 4 acre public/private development opportunity at the "72nd Street Site" located
between Collins and Harding Avenues l~om 72nd to 73rd Street. Responses to the RFQ were due
at City Hall on February 2, 2000.
The Selection Committee will meet in February 2001 to evaluate the proposals to the RFQ. I am
considering appointing the following individuals to serve on the selection committee.
Patrieia Walker, Finance Director
Jorge Gomez, Planning Director
Larry Herrup, Chairman, BAC and G. O. Bond Oversight Committee
Jerry Libbin, North Beach Resident, NBDC President
Deede Weithoru, BAC Member and North Beach Resident
Herb Sosa, MDPL, Executive Director
Marlo Courthey, Goldman Properties
Bill Farkas, Miami Beach Resident,
Former General Manager of the Broward County Convention Center, and
Former Executive Director of the Broward County Economic Development Agency
Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, Dean of the School of Arehitectttre, University of Miami
