CITY OF MIAMI BEACH CITY HALL 1700 CONVENTION CENTER DRIVE MIAMI BEACH FLORIDA 33139 COMMISSION MEMORANDUM NO. 302- qL TO: Mayor Seymour Gelber and Members of the City Commission DATE: June 5, 1996 FROM: .Jose Garcia. -pedrosa.. in...,J City Manager / ;'1f CHANGE ORDER Nil 001 TO CONTRACT NO. 62-94/95 MASTER PLANNING FOR MISCELLANEOUS IfMPROVEMENTS TO VARIOUS PARKS AND RECREATION BOND PROGRAM SITES SUB.JECT: ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends that the City Commission approve Change Order No. 001 for $13,845 to Contract No. 62-94/95 with Bermello Ajamil and Partners, Inc., for additional services, and increase the current appropriation of $417,000 to $430,845. BACKGROUND: On July 12, 1995 the City Commission authorized execution of an agreement with Bermello, Ajamil and Partners, Inc. to provide architectural and other related professional services required for the master planning of the city's parks system. The agreement provided for 18 community meetings. Since August of 1995, the consultants have conducted 16 community meetings; attended 12 meetings with boards and committees, 38 meetings with administration and staff and 4 meetings with the mayor and commission. At the March 14, 1996 City Commission Workshop, the administration was directed to conduct a city-wide parks tour with the commission and also to schedule three additional public meetings with the commission and the community. To date, the consultants have participated in a total of 74 meetings. ANALYSIS: The change order in the amount of $13,845 reflects additional costs associated with preparing revised drawings resulting from the additional community (public) meetings. This change order will increase the original contract amount from $417,000 to $430,845. Funding for this increase is available from $15 million General Obligation Park Bond funds. CONCLUSION: The Administration recommends that the City Commission approve Change Order No. 001 in the amount of $13,845 for Contract No.62-94/95. ~KS/KM F:\RCPA\$ALL\MOHAMED\BERMELLO.MEM DATE C.3,e, ~-.5-qk- AGENDA ITEM
