86-18541 ResoRESOLUTION NO. g(,-18541 A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NUMBERS 86- 18531 AND 86-18532, CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 4, 1986 FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORATE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AN AMENDMENT TO THE MIAMI BEACH CITY CHARTER CONCERNING FOUR YEAR STAGGERED TERMS FOR CITY COMMISSIONERS AND MAYOR, AND REPEAL OF SECTION 37(h) OF THE CITY CHARTER, SO AS TO CHANGE THE RESPECTIVE QUESTION NUMBERS FROM THREE AND FOUR TO TWO AND THREE. WHEREAS, on July 23, 1986, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach passed Resolution No. 86-18531 pertaining to staggered terms for City Commissioners and Mayor, designating said proposal as question number 3 on the November 4, 1986 ballot, and also passed Resolution No. 86-18532 providing for repeal of Section 37(h) of the City Charter, designating said proposal as question number 4 on the November 4, 1986 ballot; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is in the best interests of the Citizens of Miami Beach to present only three ballot questions on the November 4, 1986 ballot; and WHEREAS, in light of the above, it is necessary to redesignate the ballot questions from numbers 3 and 4 to numbers 2 and 3. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, that Resolution number 86-18531 pertaining to staggered terms of City Commissioners and Mayor is hereby amended to change its ballot designation number from 3 to 2 and Resolution No. 86-18532 pertaining to repeal of Section 37(h} of the City Charter is hereby amended so as to change its ballot designation number from 4 to 3.
