LETTER TO COMMISSION

TO: Mayor Neisen O. Kasdin and
Members of the City Commission
SUBJECT: FIRST ANNUAL" AFE XPO"
This Letter to the Commission is to advise of the First Annual "BE SAFE XPO" to be held at the
Miami Beach Convention Center on Saturday March 17, 2001 from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
The "BE SAFE XPO" will showcase booths and information geared toward safety issues for women
and children. Demonstrations are planned on fire safety, police K-9's, interactive children's displays
and self-defense dynamic simulations. There will be Women's self-defense classes held throughout
the day and attendees will receive a free "Home DNA" kit with instructions on how to use them
provided by Miami Beach Police Explorers. In addition, there will be child safety seat inspections
provided free of charge to insure parents have their child safety seats are installed properly.
Joining the Police Department for the "BE SAFE XPO" will be McGruff the crime fighting dog,
Officer Snook, of the United States Coast Guard and Vince and Larry, the crash test dummies.

initiative and hard work in creating this event.
