RESOLUTION NO. 2001-24315
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA REJECTING THE SOLE PROPOSAL
RECEIVED PURSUANT TO REQUEST FOR
PROPOSAL (RFP) NO. 61-98/99 FOR THE
PLACEMENT OF PUBLIC PAY TELEPHONES ON
THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY AND ON CITY
PROPERTIES AND CANCELING SAID RFP.
WHEREAS, on May 12, 1999, the Mayor and City Commission passed and adopted
Resolution No. 99-23161 authorizing the Administration to issue Request for Proposal (RFP) No.
61-98/99 for "The Placement of Public Pay Telephones on the Public Right-of-Way and on City
Properties;" and
WHEREAS, only one responsive proposal submitted by Goran Dragoslavic d/b/a First
American Telecommunications Corporation on July 15, 1999 was received in response to RFP 61-
98/99; and
WHEREAS, due to the failure to obtain adequate participation in response to the RFP No.
61-98/99, as well as the fact that amendments to the City's private property Ordinance have changed
the need for and the purpose of the RFP, the sole bid received in response to said RFP should be
rejected and the RFP canceled.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby rejects the sole proposal received pursuant to RFP No. 61-98/99 for the
placement of public pay telephones on the public right-of-way and on City properties and cancels
said RFP.
