A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF $1,000 FROM
THE CHARLES E. SMITH REAL TY COMPANIES TO BE USED FOR THE
CREATION OF A MIAMI BEACH FIRE DEPARTMENT HONOR GUARD
UNIT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach Fire Department is in need of an honor guard to
represent the City and the Fire Department in ceremonial situations.
WHEREAS, the Charles E. Smith Realty Companies wish to donate $1,000 to the
Miami Beach Fire Department for such purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FLORIDA, that the City herein accepts
a donation of $1 ,000 from the Charles E. Smith Realty Companies for the creation of a Miami
Beach Fire Department Honor Guard Unit.

ADMINISTRA TlON RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The Charles E. Smith Realty Companies wish to donate $1,000 towards the creation of the Miami
Beach Fire Department Honor Guard Unit in recognition of and appreciation for good customer
service during plan reviews of new city projects. This unit is being formed to represent the
Department in ceremonial situations. Funds will be used for specialized uniforms, equipment, and
training.
CONCLUSION
The adoption of this Resolution will enable the Fire Department to accept the $1,000 donation from
the Charles E. Smith Realty Companies to create a Miami Beach Fire Department Honor Guard
Unit.
