RESOLUTION NO. 2001-24329
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM THE SAINT
PATRICK PARISH SCHOOL, GUARDIAN ANGEL PROGRAM, OF ONE
MILLENNIUM CANINE PROTECTIVE VEST, VALUED AT APPROXlMA TEL Y
$750.00, FOR USE BY THE MIAMI BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the St. Patrick Parish School Guardian Angel Program has purchased a
Millennium Canine Protective Ballistic Vest, valued at approximately $750.00; and
WHEREAS, the St. Patrick Parish School Guardian Angel Program desires to donate this
Millennium Canine Protective Vest to the Miami Beach Police Department for use by the Miami
Beach Police Department's K-9 Unit. .
NOW THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and City
Commission, herein, accept the donation from the St. Patrick Parish School Guardian Angel Program
of one Millennium Canine Protective Vest, valued at approximately $750.00, for use by the Miami
Beach Police Department.

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the Resoluton.
ANALYSIS
The Police Department uses K -9 dogs for various police duties. These K -9's are highly intelligent
and trained animals that preform a variety of dangerous duties thus protecting police officers from
exposure. The K-9's are every bit as much employees of the City and have served faithfully for years.
In order to provide a level of protection to our K -9's, the St. Patrick Parish School's Guardian Angel
Program has purchased and wishes to donate to the Police Department a Millennium Canine
Protective Ballistic vest, valued at approximately $750.00, for use by the Department's K-9's.
The Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission adopt the Resolution
accepting this kind and generous donation to our City from the St. Patrick Parish School Guardian
Angel Program.
