FILM PRODUCTIONS IN MIAMI BEACH
FROM:
During April Miami Beach will be hosting 3 major motion picture productions. This memo is a
summary of the films and their estimated impact parameters.
"ALl"
Columbia Pictures will be filming in Miami Beach for approximately 5 days in early April for the
biography picture of Muhammad Ali titled simply ALL The director, Michael Mann, was integral
in the formation of the local production industry as Director of "Miami Vice". Muhammad Ali,
(then know as Casius Clay) trained in Miami Beach in his early career. Michael Mann is bringing
ALl to Miami Beach because he wants to recreate the look of Ali's early years. Another interesting
note is that this movie is authorized by Muhammad Ali himself.
Due to the scale of production, ALl will be visible to the public and will have traffic and parking
impact. Planning meetings with the producers, City of Miami Beach Parking, Police and Public
Works have already begun and the Film & Print Division will coordinate production needs as they
affect city services and neighborhoods.

. Washington Avenue between 15-13 streets or 17th street between Alton & Meridian - currently
scheduledfor April 3.4 & 9 (driving shots)

"ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS"
This is a New Line Cinema film that stars Ice Cube and Comedian Michael Epps. The story is an
action/comedy that follows the exploits of a bail bondsman and ex-con who try to foil ajewel heist.
They will begin shooting in late March through early April. This film will be considerably less
visible and impact less than ALl as it is being filmed, while in Miami Beach, at a commercial studio
location. There will be some impact to Euclid Avenue from 5'" to 7'" streets for driving shots. Also
currently scheduled are some driving shots on Collins and Washington Avenues.
"WINTER DANCE"
This is a Disney film that stars Cuba Gooding Jr. and musical artist Cisqo. The story is about a
Miami Beach dentist who inherits a dog sled team, goes to Alaska and falls in love. They are
scheduled for 5 days of filming in Miami Beach beginning in mid-April. Currently their film
schedule calls for locations on Ocean Drive, the beach at 10'" Street and on Collins Avenue. As they
confirm final dates the Film & Print Division will work with the production, affected city services
and neighborhoods to coordinate the production.
