SUBJECT: STATUS REPORT ON THE 10TB STREET AUDITORIUM PROJECT
STA was recommended on March 2000 to perform the design and construction administration
services for the scope of work established in the General Obligation Bond Program. The City
Commission authorized the Administration in May 2000 to negotiate an Agreement with STA for
these services. As a result of the Commtmity Workshop and City staff meetings, the Administration
is currently negotiating a services contract with the firm of STA Architectural Group.
Different concerns have been raised regarding the appropriate uses of the facility, renovation of the
Auditorium, and the Beach Patrol Headquarters. The scope of the services contract being negotiated
with STA will include a Programing study for the facilities, which will provide sufficient
information for the City to upgrade the buildings and determine uses for the Auditorium. STA will
prepare design and construction documents for the scope of work established in the GO Bond
Program, which included renovation of both facilities, ADA improvements, restoration of the
deteriorated facilities and painting. Deteriorated facilities have been determined to be the building's
roofs and the Auditorium's air conditioning system. The Agreement with STA will be presented to
the City Commission for approval as soon as the services fees are negotiated.
