SUBJECT: 2001 SPECIAL OLYMPICS STATE SUMMER GAMES
It is with great pride and pleasure that the Parks and Recreation Department would like to inform you
of the recent success of our Special Olympics Athletes. Five of our athletes were chosen to compete in
soccer and tennis at the Special Olympics State Games in Kissimmee, Florida from April 27- 28, 2001.
These five athletes were among hundreds of athletes from around the county who participated in the
Special Olympics Local Games held March 17, 2001 at Miami-Dade Community College South Campus.
Their hard work and determination enabled them to qualify for the State Games.
Our Special Olympics Athletes are proud of their success and look forward to the opportunity of
representing the City of Miami Beach in Kissimmee.
