SUBJECT: JOSE MARTI EVENT — COLLIN PARK
The purpose of this LTC is to notify the Mayor and City Commission of the upcoming
Jose Marti event hosted by the City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Department
in conjunction with the Hispanic Affairs Committee.
Jose Marti was a dynamic figure in Cuban history and made tremendous contributions to
Latin American literature. To celebrate his life and accomplishments, the City will be
hosting an event on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Collins Park (Collins and 21st Street).
The event will open with refreshments beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the ceremony
beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Musical acts, influential speakers, and poets will perform for guests to mark this historic
moment in Cuban history.
