SUBJECT: NORTH SHORE PARK FIELD M NTENANCE PROJECT
The purpose of this LTC is to notify the City Commission of the field maintenance project
underway at the baseball fields of North Shore Park. Improvements are currently being
made to the baseball fields that include:
• Laser Grading the clay infield leveling the ground to assist with field
drainage and playability.
• Rototilling the clay from the bottom up to eliminate compaction.
• Addition of clay and conditioner to maintain the proper playing surface.
Field maintenance is expected to begin January 12, 2017 and should be completed by
Saturday, January 14, 2017 (weather permitting).
In addition, due to the outdoor restroom project slated for the park, provisions were
made to relocate the batting cage that was in the north east corner of the park. Two new
batting cages are now being installed in the middle of the south end of the park. We
anticipate the opening of the batting cages for the beginning of February 2017 right in
time for the opening season of the Danny Berry Baseball Spring Program.
