Resolution 5410 RESOLUTION NO. 5410
WHEREAS, H. V. YOCUM became a Police Officer of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, in the year 1928 and served as such an
Officer until December 20, A. D. , 1;`34, at which time he was
appointed Acting Chief of Police, performing the duties of that
office until January 8,, 1935, at which time he was appointed Chief
of Police of Miami Beach, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the said H. V. Yocum has served said City and the
people thereof as Chief of Police since said date to the present
time, and
WHEREAS, the services of the said H. V. Yocum as such Officer
and such Chief of Police have been long, conscientious, faithful
and loyal, a fact appreciated and recognized by the said City
Council and the people of said City alike, and
WHEREAS, said City Council is anxious to express its apprecia-
tion and the appreciation of the people of Miami Beach, Florida, to
H. V. Yocum for his said service:
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, acting in its own behalf and in behalf of the
people of Miami Beach, Florida, that H. V. Yocum be and he hereby is
commended and thanked for his long, conscientious , faithful and loyal
service to the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and the people thereof:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the good wishes of said City and
the people thereof go with the said H. V. Yocum in whatever field of
endeavor he shall hereafter engage :
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread on the
Minute Record of this Council, and that the City Clerk forthwith
present to the said H. V. Yocum a suitable copy hereof.
