386-2001 RESO , RESOLUTION NO. 386-2001 A RESOLUTION OF THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (RDA), APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL FUNDING, IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,232, FROM RDA TAX INCREMENT REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 1998B, AND APPROVING CHANGE ORDER PROPOSALS NOS. 2 THROUGH 9 WITH HOMESTEAD CONCRETE AND DRAINAGE INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,232, FOR THE STREETSCAPE PHASE I PROJECT AT THE COLLINS PARK CULTURAL CENTER. WHEREAS, on November 24, 1999, an Invitation to Bid No. 38-99/00 was issued for the construction of Phase I of the Collins Park/Cultural Campus Streetscape Project (the Project); and WHEREAS, a sole, responsive, responsible bid, Homestead Concrete & Drainage, Inc. (Homestead) was received on December 22,1999 in the amount of$352,000; and WHEREAS, the City's consultant, Robert A. M. Stem Architects (Stem), as well as City staff, recommended award to Homestead and the City Commission awarded the project as recommended in the January 12,2000 meeting; and WHEREAS, due to unforeseen conditions and to modifications in the scope of work, several changes have been made in the project which require additional funding; and WHEREAS, Change Order Proposals Nos. 2 through 9 for the construction of Phase I of the Collins Park/Cultural Campus Streetscape Project in the amount of$30,232, have been submitted by Homestead; and WHEREAS, Change Order No.1, in the amount of $943, was not approved and has been voided by Homestead; and WHEREAS, these Change Order Proposals have been verified by Stem and by the City and the Collins Park Cultural Center Oversight Committee has recommended the changes be implemented. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, appropriating additional funding, in the amount of$30,232, from RDA Tax Increment Revenue Bonds, Series 1998B, and approving Change Order proposals Nos. 2 through 9 with Homestead Concrete and Drainage Inc., in the amount of $30,232, for the Streetscape Phase I project at the Collins Park Cultural Center. FUNDING: Funds are available from the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency (RDA) Tax Increment Revenue Bonds, Series 1998B. All appropriated funds will be placed in account number 372-2181-069358 for the Cultural Campus/Regional Library. These changes involve electrical and lighting changes due to the relocation of a Florida Power & Light transformer; relocation of new light poles due to existing underground utilities; relocation of valves and hydrant due to existing utilities; and credits arising from the sidewalk installations. The Administration is now requesting the appropriation of the funding required for Change Order Proposals Nos. 2 through 9 for the construction of Phase I of the Collins Park/Cultural Campus Streetscape Project in the amount of$30,232. Change Order Proposal No.1 was not approved and has been voided by the contractor. These change order proposals and additional work have been verified by the City's consultant and by City staff. The Collins Park Cultural Center Oversight Committee has reviewed these changes and has recommended they be implemented. A listing of each proposal, its purpose and amount is attached (Attachment).
