A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF ONE (1) USED 1989 HARLEY
DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE TO THE POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE
WHEREAS, the City wishes to donate one (1) used 1989 Harley Davidson (FXRP)
Motorcycle with 65,000 miles, in "as is" condition to the Police Athletic League (PAL); and
WHEREAS, no funds are required from the City for the donation of the motorcycle;
and
WHEREAS, as this donation is made in its" as is" condition and makes no representations
as to the condition of the vehicle, and no warranties, expressed or implied, and assumes no further
responsibility.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City of Miami Beach herein donates one (1) used 1989 Harley Davidson
(FXRP) Motorcycle to the Police Athletic League (PAL).
Section 2. The Police Athletic League (PAL) agrees to receive the donation in its "as is"
condition with no warranties, expressed or implied, and that the City assumes no further
responsibility for same.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 11 th day of September, 1996

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
Approve the Donation.
The City is donating to the Police Athletic League (PAL) one (1) 1989 Harley Davidson
FLHP motorcycle in "AS IN" condition with 65,000 miles. The City makes no
representation as to the condition of the vehicle. any warranties whether expressed or
implied and assumes no responsibility. This vehicle is no longer used as a Police vehicle
due to age, general condition and is not cost effective to maintain.
The PAL intends to refurbish and customize this vehicle and use same to support fund
raising efforts. The cost of this refurbishment will be the responsibility of the PAL and
their supporters.
ANAL YSIS
Due to the age, mileage (66,500 miles), general condition (fair to poor) this motorcycle is
no longer cost effective to maintain. This vehicle 92-9 (1989 Harley Davidson FLHP) has
been removed from the Motorcycle Fleet (deadlined) and is not scheduled for
replacement. The estimated salvage value of this vehicle is $1500.
CONCLUSION
Approve the Donation of this vehicle.
