The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to provide you with correspondence received
from Mr. Mark Weithom, Transportation and Parking Committee Chairman. This letter
includes a list of the proposed MDT bus route changes to Miami Beach.

Marvin Silverman The Transportation & Parking Committee met on March 2, 2009 and held a
discussion with Miami-Dade Transit (MDT). As a result of this discussion, the
members of the Transportation & Parking Committee wanted to communicate to
the Mayor and City Commission, the proposed bus route changes to Miami Beach.
• A: 20 minute headway in evening to serve theater; run 40 minute
headway (they only get on average, 3 riders per trip)
• G: Bus comes from North Miami area across Broad Causeway to
Lincoln/Washington -weekend service will go from 30 to 40 minutes
• H: (Saturday) comes from North Miami Beach across 163~d Street
Causeway to South Beach; headway will change from 20 to 30 minutes
• K: Peak service will go from 20 to 30 minutes
• L: Peak service from 10 to 12 minutes; using savings to put new limited
stop route along 79th Street & 32"d Ave., to 72"d/Collins
• M: (Low ridership route) -will take loop out south of 5th Street, which
duplicates and peak headway changed from 30 to 45 minutes and
midday from 45 to 60 minutes (weekdays)
• R: (Least productive route on Miami Beach); cut-off last evening trip in
each direction (7:OOpm) -last trip has 2-3 riders
