As indicated in the above chart, a resolution calling for a special election for a Charter
Amendment must be approved between July 6, 2009 and September 4, 2009. Please note
that July 15, 2009 is the only regularly scheduled Commission between these dates.
In addition, pursuant to Florida Statute 100.151, "County commissioners or the governing
authority of a municipality shall not call any special election until notice is given to the
supervisor of elections and his or her consent obtained as to a date when the registration
books can be available."
